CROWNWeb Phase III and National Release Dates Scheduled

In a recent CROWN Memorandum distributed to ESRD Networks, CMS announced a time frame for the next two CROWNWeb releases, including the tentative national release to all Medicare certified dialysis facilities. The scheduled relese times are as follows:

The process of adopting an EMR/EHR for a dialysis facility is not an easy proposition. Probably the most difficult area is cultural adoption. In fact, cultural adoption may be the most crucial factor in successfully implementing an EMR. However, there are some things that can be done to ensure as smooth of a transition as possible. No EMR is perfect. The industry and regulations change so quickly that it is difficult for any company to successfully navigate all of them accurately and completely without a few bumps along the way. New PD Module Added to DIApro

Stimulus Update

As of January 1, 2011 the United States government has approved over $19 Billion dollars in funding for free standing, independent physician offices to convert to Electronic Health Records (EHR) over a five year period through section IV (Medicare and Medicaid Health Information Technology) of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA). The ARRA is designed to reduce health care costs by accelerating the use of Information Technology for health care facilities throughout the country.
